Azul is an import from Mexico. His sire Akio is from Russia. His dam Esmiralda is also from Russia, she is a daughter of Khan Orda Nuker. We were looking to import a male from these bloodlines from Russia but the new CDC laws and the war in Russia was making it difficult so when we saw this litter in Mexico, we jumped on it. He is a large male with a strong personality. Azul is long hair and unfortunately came back carrying both dilute and brown. Because of this he will not be available to outside females who are not tested clear for both and we will have to be careful who is is bred to. Azul also carries recessive red and tan points so he can throw white puppies, as well as tricolor puppies.
Interesting fact - Azul's color has been suspected to have been added using cattle dogs or another ticked breed. However most ticked breeds have a testable variant of roan. Azul came back as being not a carrier for roan, meaning he does not have the common variant found in most ticked breeds - so likely the color was a random mutation in the breed.
